- The discussion will be guided by Al Ghazali’s work
Event Two: Poetry Recitations
23 March, 04:30 PM UK
- The curated part of the event will include recitations of established, renowned Sufi and other spiritual and Sufi poetry
- This will be followed by an open mic
- You may share recitations in any language with English translation
At The Poetry Cafe, Covent Garden, London
Online event, with recitations of Arabic, Urdu & Turkish poetry with English translation, and a multilingual open mic segment
Inclusive of recitations from Islington, Ireland and Rawanee stanzas and an open mic event
"When We Arrive" is a story of Dounia (the world) and Iman (faith).
Two migrants reflect on the past and present with a mix of nostalgia and cynicism. Amidst the chaos and conflict they face, a voice of Sufic mysticism still guides.

Dounia (A migrant. Played and written by Hana Ormara); Iman (A migrant. Played and written by Muniba Mahmud); Sufi (The voice that reminds. Played by Ali Syed, written by Shaheryar Mirza); The Villain (The voice that mocks. Played by Ruhi Amir Alam, written by Ruhi, Saba, Rafey, Laiba).

First performed as a reading at Victoria Library on 20th July 2024, as part of the SouthWestFest
The event brought together poets and creatives with origins from across Europe, the Middle East and South Asia in a vision of unity and a better future
Rawanee collaborated with The Poetry Society for an international and multilingual poetry night in February 2024.
The event hosted an lineup of eight poets including multiple award winning ones, from across the UK & internationally.
Members from multiple Poetry Society stanzas participated. Rawanee members participated from multiple cities including London, Cardiff, Islamabad, Karachi.
Hosted in collaboration with Lakeer magazine in May 2024
A separate event was hosted for youth and emerging talent on the same day
An online event in which a group of global poets came together to share their voices for peace
A global group of poets and storytellers met up online to share words in support of women's rights and against the patriarchy
